Heather Barendregt's Picks

  • "Most Wanted" by Lisa Scottoline
  • "A Cup of Dust" by Susie Finkbeiner
  • "Shoot Me" by Lesley Crewe
  • "Corrupted" by Lisa Scottoline
  • "My Secret Sister" by Helen Edwards

Donna Walby's Picks

  • All the "Jacky Faber" pirate-girl adventure stories by M.E. Meyer that are in our Young Adult area. These books are a cross between Tom Sawyer and Pippi Longstockings, written in a style that anyone will enjoy. A little riské at times, without being "graphic" so not for young children to read. I hope he writes many more of these adventures!
  • "The Angelic Letters" series, by Canadian author Henry Ripplinger- stories of profound loving and living life to the fullest.
  • Anything by Greg Iles, particularly "Blood Memory".
  • "The Secret Life of Bees" and "The Mermaid Chair" by Sue Monk Kidd
  • "19 Minutes" The only Jodi Picoult novel I really appreciated. Others are ok, but this one was very well written.
  • "Crow Lake" and others, by Mary Lawson
  • "The Other Boleyn Girl" and most anything by Philippa Gregory
  • "The Story of Danny Dunn" and "Tandia" by Bryce Courtenay
  • Anything by Louise Penny, including "The Beautiful Mystery" and "A Trick of the Light".
  • Mo Hayder's works, including "Poppet" and "Skin," but these are a bit on the "ooo-ey" side sometimes!
  • "Unrepentant" - The Strange & (Sometimes) Terrible Life of Lorne Campbell (Satan's Choice & Hells Angels Biker)
  • "Bats at the Library," "Bats at the Beach" and "The day the Crayons Quit" from our Easy Reader collection.
