Kay has had a long interest in fiber arts such as knitting and hand embroidery. She has been rug hooking for about 3 years and spinning for 2 years. She finds that the two crafts work well together because she can often use some of the handspun wool in her hooking projects.
Kay uses mostly recycled wool, which she hand dyes and over dyes, to produce her hooking mats, which are primitive wide cut hooking from her own designs. She dyes or hand paints the wool she spins to use in various knitting projects.
